Diagnosing and resolving equipment faults on customer sites, using whatever documentation exists to do it right the first time.
Starts each day with a dispatch list and fifteen minutes per stop to prepare before driving out. Searches fault codes and part numbers from the truck or the customer's loading dock, on a phone screen, often with poor signal. Most searches resolve in under a minute against a spec sheet or a prior resolved ticket; the rare miss means calling a colleague or guessing, neither of which he likes doing in front of a customer.
Not knowing that a more specific bulletin exists somewhere in the acquired UK subsidiary's systems, which he cannot see and does not know to ask about. Documentation that assumes he is standing at a desk, not holding a phone at arm's length in bad light.
First-visit fix rate, and not having to call someone else to answer a question the platform should have answered.
