Ethical wall

A partition, within a single organisation and platform, that stops two people or teams from seeing each other's content when a conflict of interest requires it — most commonly between two client engagements at a professional services firm.

Why it matters

Distinct from ordinary access control: an ethical wall must hold between people with the same role, the same seniority, and the same general permissions, differing only in which client they are staffed to.
